Company Law refers to the regulations, rules, and practices that govern the rights, relations and conduct of organisations, businesses, entities and persons. Corporate law regulates how corporations and other business entities interact with their owners, management, employees and third parties.
Company litigation matters may occur at any time in the lifecycle of the entity, from its formation and funding and its governance to dissolution. It can include interpretation issues and disputes relating to a company’s articles of association, shareholder director’s service agreements and, incentive arrangements.
Litigation can largely be avoided by having a lawyer’s advice on preparing documents, understanding risks and their management, and providing insights during the negotiations. Engaging a corporate litigation lawyer early on will make it easier to fulfil legal obligations related to the formation, governance, and dissolution of the business.
Commercial law deals primarily with contract and/or tort laws. It usually involves issues that arise in the course of running a business and can be at any stage of the commercial cycle. Commercial law often involves contracts and the rights and duties of parties relating to tangible and intangible property.

Commercial litigation covers any legal action taken that involves a corporate party and, again, relates in general to trade and commerce. The type of situations where legal action may arise, are over disagreements from commercial activity or trade that has gone wrong. This can include anything from supplier and contract disputes to major cases between large international companies.
