Attempt to ban Kids Company trustees cost taxpayers £8m

The Guardian reports that taxpayers face a legal bill of at least £8m as a result of the official receiver’s failed attempt to disqualify the Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh and seven fellow charity trustees from holding senior jobs.

Rupert Butler is quoted as saying that ‘while it was right for the official receiver to investigate the charity, it had failed to change tack when it became clear that there was no serious case to answer.’
